From where do new ideas come? Why are new ideas so special? These Questions lead me to the thought of the Creativity Cycle.

The first two words of the thought came from a FaceBook post: Motivation vs Discipline by Randy Harris, June 2021) These two words seems to be part of a group of words for a process. At that time, I did not have a name for that process. The name is Creativity Cycle. As I thought for a few minutes, other words came to mind: Decision, Motivation, Discipline, Effort, Vision. These seem to make a circle with one idea moving into the next.
Which comes First?
I believe Vision is the first step in the creativity cycle. We “see” an idea. When thoughts gather to form an idea, we can now see that idea.
Next comes Decision. We make a decision to act on what is seen. To make something happen, we need motivation. Motivation gives us a reason to proceed towards completion of the vision.
Once Motivation has been obtained, Effort is needed to get it moving. Sometimes we start a project not knowing the effort required to achieve it (or how far to go. ) To keep this effort up, Discipline is required. This discipline is based on principles developed over time.
Are there more words in this Creativity Cycle? Perhaps. Those are my quick thoughts to get a conversation going. So many work hard, too hard, to be creative. Sometimes it is as simple as just starting. Just sit for a minute and see what comes to mind. And then act on it.
